About the Company
Cell Therapies Pty Ltd (CTPL) is a commercial Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) located within the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. We specialise in the development and delivery of cell and gene therapies and have more than 20 years’ experience in this area.
The growth of CTPL will continue through our commitment to supporting both Australian and international research and development activities, alongside delivery of commercial contracts to provide these highly personalised therapies to patients in Australia and the region.
About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Business Development Associate to join our growing team.
In this role, you will support the end-to-end coordination of Business Development activities, from managing inbound enquiries and maintaining CRM accuracy to assisting with proposals and client meetings. You will help ensure our commercial pipeline is organised, responsive, and supported by accurate reporting and documentation. Alongside operational support, you’ll conduct targeted market research and provide structured insights to inform Business Development strategy.
This is a full-time position located at our new, state-of-the-art Melbourne facility, located at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on the edge of the CBD in Australia's most dynamic biomedical precinct. What you will be expected to do
You will work closely with the Business Development & Marketing Lead to:
- Manage and qualify inbound enquiries received via the website and Business Development inbox
- Accurately log and maintain opportunity data within the CRM system
- Coordinate timely follow-ups to ensure a professional and responsive client experience
- Support pipeline tracking, stage progression and commercial forecasting activities
- Assist in preparing proposals, work orders, agreements and related documentation
- Maintain and improve documentation templates to ensure consistency and quality
- Prepare briefing notes, meeting minutes and track follow-up actions from client discussions
- Coordinate client meetings, site visits, workshops and relevant BD events
- Support due diligence and confidentiality agreement processes
- Conduct market research across biotech, pharma and emerging therapeutic companies
- Monitor industry activity, competitor positioning and trends in cell and gene therapy
- Contribute to pipeline reports, dashboards and structured summaries to support commercial decision-making
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate scientific information into clear, structured summaries
- Strong analytical capability and attention to detail
- High organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Desirable
- 1–3 years’ experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical or CDMO environment
- Exposure to GMP-regulated environments
- Experience using CRM systems
- Commercial awareness or coursework in business/commercialisation
