About the Company

The growth of CTPL will continue through our commitment to supporting both Australian and international research and development activities, alongside delivery of commercial contracts to provide these highly personalised therapies to patients in Australia and the region.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Financial Controller who will report to the Chief Financial Officer and be responsible for leading CTPLs financial management, accounting operations and compliance requirements.

Partnering with all areas of the business, the role will provide financial advice through reporting, forecasting, costing analysis and trend analysis, whilst supporting the cyclical financial activities for CTPL.

This role will also lead the Finance team and support the CFO in ensuring strong financial governance, accurate financial reporting and continuous improvement of finance processes and systems.

A week in this role will have you demonstrating adaptability and a strong focus on both short-term financial performance and long-term strategic objectives while managing day-to-day operational activities.

Start by checking in with the finance team to ensure month-end and year-end timelines are on track, providing guidance and support to ensure high standards are maintained.

Analyse financial performance and collaborate with functional managers to gather information on upcoming projects, expenses, and revenue forecasts. Identify variances between actual and budgeted figures and implement corrective actions through effective business partnering.

Prepare financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and provide financial insights and recommendations to the Leadership Team and relevant stakeholders. Manage statutory taxation obligations including BAS, FBT and Income Tax reporting.

Prepare cash flow projections to ensure sufficient liquidity and manage working capital effectively. Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll activities, identifying any potential cash flow issues.

Attend cross-functional meetings to discuss financial implications of business initiatives. Contribute to the development of financial models, costing and pricing analysis, and support colleagues in developing business cases.

Review and update financial policies and procedures and identify opportunities for process improvements by implementing automation and technology solutions to streamline financial processes and reporting.

This is a full-time position located at our new, state-of-the-art Melbourne facility, located at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on the edge of the CBD in Australia's most dynamic biomedical precinct.
