Cell Therapies Pty Ltd (CTPL) is a commercial Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) located within the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. We specialise in the development and delivery of cell and gene therapies and have more than 20 years’ experience in this area.

The growth of CTPL will continue through our commitment to supporting both Australian and international research and development activities, alongside delivery of commercial contracts to provide these highly personalised therapies to patients in Australia and the region.

About the Role

We are seeking a HR Advisor (full-time, 12-month Parental Leave cover) to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality, practical HR services across the business.

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, this is a hands-on role where you will work closely with managers and employees across the organisation, providing practical HR support and advice across a broad range of people matters. You will lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding whilst supporting the delivery of key people processes across the employee lifecycle.

In addition to day-to-day HR activities, you will play an important role in maintaining and improving HR systems, processes and documentation. You will contribute to initiatives across performance, engagement, and employee experience, while supporting the continuous improvement of HR practices to ensure they are efficient, consistent, and aligned with organisational needs.

This role suits someone who enjoys balancing operational HR delivery with process improvement and project work, and who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

This position located at our state of the art Melbourne facility located at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre on the edge of the CBD in Australia's most dynamic biomedical precinct.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end recruitment processes including job advertising, screening, interview coordination, reference checks and onboarding
  • Partner with hiring managers to provide guidance on best practice recruitment and selection
  • Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees on policies, procedures and employment matters
  • Support employee lifecycle activities including probation, contract variations and offboarding
  • Assist with performance management processes and employee relations matters
  • Prepare and manage HR documentation including contracts, letters, templates and guidelines
  • Maintain and improve HRIS, ensuring data accuracy and alignment with payroll processes
  • Support the development and improvement of HR policies, processes and SharePoint resources
  • Contribute to HR initiatives including performance and remuneration review cycles, employee engagement activities and wellbeing programs
  • Assist with HR reporting and metrics to support business decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Support broader HR initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency, consistency and employee experience

About you:

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end recruitment in a fast-paced or technical environment
  • A qualification in Human Resources, Business or related discipline
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work autonomously
  • Sound understanding of Australian employment legislation
  • Experience using HRIS and recruitment systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to apply sound judgement and provide practical HR advice
  • An added extra but not essential, experience in a healthcare, biotechnology or manufacturing environment
